Since 1999, Cemetech (pronounced KE'me'tek) has been teaching programming and electronics and developing software and hardware. Our members are enthusiastic about graphing calculators as fun, easy tools on which to learn programming and electronics.
Programming and DIY electronics are fun hobbies and vital modern skills. Graphing calculators are the perfect tool for learning programming and hardware hacking that you already own: we'll show you how to get started and what you could make.
What inspired you to make this project?:
I and the other makers who will be joining me to present our work and teach at the Faire all learned programming with our graphing calculators. Simply by experimenting with the built-in programming features, we learned the fundamental skills necessary to write programs in practically any language, and since then, we've enjoyed sharing programming with others. Many among us also experimented with DIY and embedded electronics, and we found that calculators could be used as a great platform for controlling electronics as well.
