On a cold January day in 2015, I excitedly opened a package; my excitement quickly deflated as I realized the key chain I had custom ordered wasn't going to work. The quality wasn't up to my standards for a gift. So I channeled my disappointment, went into research mode, and figured out how to make the key chain I had envisioned myself. I ordered all the supplies and set to work. The first time my brass hammer hit the stamp with a satisfying *thunk*, I knew I was hooked. It brought me back to my tap dancing days ... you just find your rhythm and bring in da noise! After the first gift was loved, I made more for friends. I realized I had more ideas rattling around in my head. That's when I started to consider following my father's footsteps and opening my own small business. In reviewing options, I looked back at my Etsy profile, and realized my very first purchase was a hand-stamped "lucky" penny. I took it as a sign, and started my business: Ye Old Stamping Grounds.
Ye Old Stamping Grounds believes that fun and quirky key chains make happy keys! Designs are inspired by geek love and nerd pride: coding, science, math, sci-fi, & literature. Hand-stamping makes each key chain unique. Made locally in Queens, NYC.
