Project Empire

Inspired by the heyday of science fiction concept art, the cryptic history of a canceled NASA mission, and the optimism and hipness of the early 60’s Apollo Rocket Age, Project: EMPIRE (Early Manned Planetary-Interplanetary Roundtrip Expeditions) is the physical creation of a mythological spacecraft and a new anachronistic style we call AEROSPACEPUNK.

What inspired you to make this project?:
On August 26th1965, the Aeronutronic Divison of Philco Corp launched a secret manned mission to Mars in concert with NASA. Launched from the Nevada Desert, it was the culmination of Wernher von Braun’s dream of a Mars mission that he outlined in “Das Marsprojeckt” in 1952. It’s codename, was EMPIRE (Early Manned Planetary-Interplanetary Roundtrip Expedition).
