Engineers Without Borders New York Professional Chapter
EWB-USA partners with developing communities around the world. With the community’s input, the chapter designs and implements low-cost, small-scale, replicable and sustainable engineering solutions to problems identified by the community.
Simple smart designs can make all the difference. It can make carrying gallons of water over several miles, faster and easier or enable you to get a quick survey of a remote area. Discover tech used in international development projects.
What inspired you to make this project?:
We are primarily motivated by making access to basic resources like clean water available to everyone and helping communities achieve their goals. We are a group of volunteer engineers who use our skills and knowledge to help these communities solve problems to clean water, sanitation, bridges, and infrastructure. Oftentimes, this may require complex and expensive technology but as engineers we like to creatively think of solutions that can use easily available resources and tools that are cheaper. This challenge to think of alternative solutions also motivates us.
