Kuiper Kat's Astronomy

Kuiper Kat's Astronomy

Join Kuiper Kat's Astronomy as we engage in solar observing using telescopes with solar filters, while explaining how stars, like our sun, are born, live, and die!

What inspired you to make this project?:
Ever since I was a kid, I've had a fascination with space. It started when I was in elementary school. Every month, we were sent to the school library for a book report of our choosing. One month, I just happened to grab a book about the solar system.

Other planets smaller than Earth? Other stars larger than our own sun? Comets? Nebulae? My 7-year old mind had been blown. It was love at first page. Also, what kid doesn't dream of going to the moon someday?

The primary focus of Kuiper Kat's Astronomy is to engage and educate the general public in astronomy, telescopes, amateur stargazing and our universe in the hope of cultivating an interest in STEM and STEM related science. For the past five years, I have dedicated my time to the study of astronomy and I hope to one day inspire the young and young at heart, the same way that book inspired me.
