Sandy is the author of 4 Maker Press books on DIY Space and how to design and build your own satellite. As 'Dr. Antunes', he is published in numerous journals (including 'Science'). As both a professor and hobbiest, Sandy is constantly amazed by what today's students are creating.
It's a breakout year for both amateurs and NASA alike building tiny book-sized Cubesats. Are the many amateur CubeSats just fancy re-dos of Sputnik, or can amateur builds contribute meaningfully to new technology and science?
