At Tufts University, we have been examining makerspaces as burgeoning academic resources over the last few years. This presentation will cover the research activities we're involved in such as starting makerspaces in local K-12 schools and ways of better organizing makerspaces for student use.

Brian O'Connell

Brian is a mechanical engineering PhD student at Tufts University. He works as a research assistant at the Center for Engineering Education and Outreach on the Novel Engineering project and on Jumbo's Maker Studio and Jumbo's Maker Network. His personal research interests focus on creativity in engineering curriculum as well as educational technologies for learning and assessment.
