Sarah LeFeber is a San Bruno based photographer, painter, and instructor of sewing, photography, and drawing. She loves mixed media creation, vintage sensibilities, and rescuing beautiful objects from the landfill. She is grateful that her attendance at Maker Faire has been generously funded by the National Arts & Disability Center.
Sarah LeFeber is the maker behind Sinopia Designs, a line of hand-crafted jewelry from leather, fabric, and found objects such as antique hardware. She specializes in rescuing materials from the landfill and giving them new life as wearable art.
What inspired you to make this project?:
I have always loved creating things ever since I was a child, and have made my own clothes and jewelry for years. I'm also an avid believer in recycling, and can never seem to throw anything away! I kept collecting and saving beautiful things from my travels or junk shops, and finally I decided I should find a way to display these objects in a somewhat useful way. Sinopia Designs was born in 2014, and now I try to find a way to wear everything that catches my eye!
