The first edition of Duckietown was shepherded by a large team of 25+ Ph. D. students, Professors, and researchers at MIT, all with Ph. D.-level education and significant research experience in robotics-related fields. As Duckietown transitioned to operating more like a startup company rather than a university project, the founding team simmered down to Dr. Andrea Censi (now a researcher at ETH Zurich), Dr. Liam Paul (now a Professor at the University of Montreal and CTO of Duckietown), and Dr. Jacopo Tani (now CEO of Duckietown).
