WEART - Just a Touch Away
Weart technology is a strong example of the introduction of science fiction concepts into real-world projects and design, to produce a potential real-world benefit. Weart develops wearable and portable haptic products for touch digitalization that allows users to augment VR/AR experiences and multimedia contents with a tactile layer that is added to the audio/video ones. This groundbreaking technology has numerous applications, including industrial and medical VR training; marketing applications; sports training and simulations; virtual prototyping; entertainment and much more.

WEART
Weart is ideated by SIRSLab (Siena Robotics and Systems Lab), a lab of the University of Siena specialized in robotics and haptics, in cooperation with e-Novia. Founders are Guido Gioioso, Giovanni Spagnoletti and Prof. Domenico Prattichizzo, and share years of research experience. During their PhD, Guido and Giovanni, under the supervision of Prof. Prattichizzo, developed prototypes of wearable and portable haptic devices devoted to telerobotics and medical applications. With the born of WEART in 2018 prototypes became products, and the range of applications was significantly extended.
