Cartalana, Gioielli che Raccontano
Entirely handmade from recycled and precious paper, Cartalana jewellery is characterised by an essential, geometric design; finished with natural stones and metals. Each gesture leading to the creation of a paper-jewel is both tribute and inspiration to Nature, which never discards anything, but reuses itself to regenerate. These are not mere jewels but little artist's books to wear: each one tells a story inspired by art, myths, legends or the personal and childhood memories of Marcella Stilo, founder and artisan of the brand.

Marcella Stilo
Born in 1983 in Calabria, she undertook her studies in Communication in Rome, her adoptive city for several years where she worked as press officer and organiser of cultural events. Ten years ago, in response to the economic crisis of 2007 - 2013, she gave life in Milan to Cartalana Gioielli di Carta , a project halfway between craftsmanship, fashion and communication marked by sustainability. Through Cartalana, Marcella interprets with her imagination the suggestions that come from the simple act of manipulating any sheet of paper. The experimentation and mixing of techniques and tools from the world of paper, art and Women's Arts allow her to easily obtain simple and aesthetically appealing objects, stimulating a completely free design thanks to her knowledge of the technological characteristics of paper.
