MakeGood - Open Source Assistive Technology
Maker Faire Bay Area 2026
September 25th-27th
Step into the MakeGood West booth and discover how 3D printing is transforming assistive technology into everyday, desirable products. What was once complex and inaccessible is becoming local, customizable, and beautifully designed.
From adaptive writing tools to a range of functional, life-enhancing products, we showcase how digital fabrication can bring new energy, and new possibilities into the world of rehabilitation and daily living.
The Toddler Mobility Trainer (TMT) is an open-source mobility device that enables toddlers with physical disabilities to move independently - often for the very first time.
Built through hands-on collaboration between designers, engineers, clinicians, and families, the TMT focuses on one thing: giving toddlers the ability to move and be independent.
At Maker Faire, we will showcase CNC and 3D-printed versions of the TMT alongside the open-source fabrication process -and bring the spirit of our community build parties to life. These events bring volunteers together to build devices that are fitted and delivered directly to children, sometimes within a single day.
This is more than a product - it’s a living, distributed model for making impact. By combining digital fabrication with community action, the TMT turns making into a tool for real-world change.
