Make It Better: Healthcare Edition
Maker Faire Bay Area 2026
September 25th-27th
What happens when nurses, therapists, physicians, engineers, patients, and families become makers?
generate is a hospital-based makerspace where frontline healthcare teams identify problems encountered during patient care and rapidly design, prototype, and manufacture practical solutions using technologies including 3D printing, laser cutting, CAD design, silicone molding, sewing, and electronics.
Since launching in 2019, generate has supported more than 1,500 projects that improve patient care, staff safety, accessibility, education, and workflow. Visitors will see real healthcare innovations developed by clinicians and patients, including adaptive devices, rehabilitation tools, simulation models, accessibility solutions, and patient-inspired inventions. Come and learn how making can transform healthcare.
