FTC Team 8404 Quixilver Robotics
Maker Faire Bay Area 2026
September 25th-27th
FTC Team 8404 Quixilver showcases the journey behind designing, building, and programming a competitive FIRST Tech Challenge robot. Visitors will have the opportunity to see our robot in action through live demonstrations while exploring the engineering process behind its creation, including mechanical design, CAD, manufacturing, electronics, programming, and iterative problem-solving. Through conversations with student engineers, attendees will learn how creativity, teamwork, and innovation come together to transform ideas into a fully functional competition robot. This interactive exhibit highlights the craftsmanship and engineering behind robotics while inspiring visitors to experiment, build, and explore their own STEM projects.
FTC Team 8404 Quixilver
FTC Team 8404 Quixilver is a student-run, registered nonprofit robotics team focused on using engineering and STEM to create, innovate, and inspire. Through the FIRST Tech Challenge, our team designs, builds, and programs a competition robot while developing skills in mechanical design, manufacturing, programming, leadership, and teamwork. As a student-led organization, we take ownership of every aspect of our team, from the engineering process to community outreach. Outside of competitions, we work to promote STEM education by sharing our experiences with students and community members through demonstrations, events, and educational activities. Our mission is to inspire curiosity, encourage innovation, and show others the opportunities that engineering and technology can create.
