From Clay to Creator: Build, Design, and Bring Ideas to Life
Maker Faire Bay Area 2026
September 25th-27th
This interactive exhibit invites kids and families to explore creativity through a unique blend of art, engineering, and entrepreneurship.
Participants will create their own clay crafts such as keychains, figurines, and mini animal sculptures while learning simple engineering concepts through hands-on making. They will also discover how ideas can become real products and gain exposure to basic entrepreneurial skills like pricing, branding, and storytelling.
In addition, the exhibit introduces AI-powered creativity, where visitors can explore how AI tools help generate ideas, design products, and even create digital goods.
Presented by Handshake Network (aka Sue's Maker Studio), this program has been successfully implemented in schools, libraries, and community centers across Northern California, empowering participants to build confidence, creativity, and future-ready skills.
Visitors don’t just watch—they actively make, learn, and imagine their future as creators.
Sue's Maker Studio

At Maker Faire, Sue will be joined by a team of dedicated volunteers who help guide participants, support hands-on activities, and create a welcoming, engaging environment for families. Together, the team is committed to making creativity accessible, fun, and inspiring for all ages.
