“El Pulpo Magnifico” by Duane Flatmo is a monumental kinetic sculpture that transforms a vehicle into a colossal, fire-breathing octopus. Rising nearly 28 feet into the air, this extraordinary creation fuses mechanical engineering with theatrical spectacle, bringing a mythical sea creature to life through movement, light, and flame. Towering above the crowd, its commanding presence instantly turns any gathering into a stage for awe and imagination.

Constructed from reclaimed metal and an eclectic mix of repurposed materials—many sourced from everyday kitchenware and industrial scraps—the sculpture balances rugged ingenuity with surprising elegance. Its eight articulated tentacles undulate dramatically while bursts of fire and carefully choreographed lighting create a hypnotic display of motion, heat, and rhythm.
