Don't let the robots steal your joy
Maker Faire Bay Area 2026
September 25th-27th
Many of us makers watched Iron Man in 2008 and were captivated by the ease at which Tony Stark, in partnership with his robot side kick Jarvis, were able to design and iterate on Tony's Iron Man suit. Tony simply spoke the parts he wanted to make happen and Jarvis handled the grunt work to make it so. How many of our half-finished side projects could get completed if we only had a robot sidekick of our own?
Fast forward (almost) 20 years later and Jarvis exists as your friendly neighborhood coding agent. We can now literally speak things with our mouths and have a robot sidekick go build it for us. And we don't have to delegate our creativity to some conglomerated average of stuff that already exists on the internet! We makers can retain our creative spark, imagine entirely novel creations, do the parts that bring us joy, and ask our robots to do the rest!
Join John Boiles & Joe Taylor, founders of East Bay Makers Club (and also OpenAI employees) to see practical examples of how to use modern AI agents to do whatever part of your project you're dreading, from mechanical CAD, to PCB design, to reverse engineering, to software.
Us humans can do the fun parts and let our own personal robot sidekicks do the rest!

East Bay Makers Club is building a practical Berkeley workshop for tools, projects, repairs, experiments, and the kind of ideas that get better around a shared bench.
