Nerd Musician

The Nerd Musician, lead by Gustavo Silveira, is a music/technology blog and community that brings the maker and the music world together. There you will find unique electronic musical instruments, tutorials, courses and many open-source projects!

What inspired you to make this project?:
Everything started when I graduated in music composition, back in 2014, in Brazil. I wanted to create a show that involved electronic music, video and controllerism. The problem was that I didn't have the money to buy the tools I needed. At the time, I remembered that I had an Arduino somewhere in my room, and I knew that that little thing could do some type of magic. I spent around a year learning and making a lot of mistakes, but I got to make my own controllers. Feeling that other people could be in the same situation, I started to sell custom made MIDI controller and release tutorials on how people could make music with Arduino. That's when the Músico Nerd (the Nerd Musician) was born.
