I moved to New York from Japan to enter the Parsons School of Design. After my graduation, I worked as a graphic designer in fashion and jewelry industries. Through my working experience, I started thinking that I want to connect with people through my creations. The internet makes it easier. I started selling my fashion accessories online in 2013. Since then, sales has increased every year. Last year, I finally decided to quit my day job and to take my creative business to the next level. Now I work full time for Hooks and Luxe from home in Queens. These earrings are inspired by Japanese craftwork. I have always been attracted by traditional crafts in Japan since I was a child. So, I decided to use gold leaf, which is handcrafted by skillful artisans in Japan, for my jewelry. The high quality gold leaf is carefully gilded on bone beads by using bamboo tweezers. The beads are glazed and have beautiful shine. Gold leaf patterns are different from each other, giving a distinctive touch and variation to every piece.
Hooks and Luxe creates dainty geometric jewelry, based in Queens, NY. They are so delicate and simple that they will fit to any style. Because of carefully chosen high quality materials, you can enjoy wearing the pieces without stress to your skin.
