I am a Volunteer Director with a Pennsylvania Archaeology Society working to integrate interest in photography, 3D printing and paint with a goal to make hidden artifact collections both in homes and museums available to the public.
Summer Brooks
As a young person, I learn best when I can view and touch historical objects. I enjoy helping make that possible for others by integrating my interest in Photography, Computers and Paint.
As volunteers, we work with our local archaeological society. We encourage collectors and curators of early American artifacts to share their treasures. We photograph the items, use software to generate 3D point-maps; 3D print, paint and share!
What inspired you to make this project?:
Many families have shoe boxes of native American stone tools, toys, art and projectile points but consider them too valuable or vulnerable to make available for research, education or curiosity. Photogrammetry and its production can help encourage owners and curators to make these buried treasures come to light.
