Much is made these days about the potential for AI -- some rightly so, some more hype than reality. Advances in recent years are making possible creative new applications, but if they’re informed by limited models of learning and pedagogy, should we really expect breakthroughs?
Dr. Satya Nitta
Dr. Satya V. Nitta is passionate about solving major global problems by inventing and developing technologies to address them. He has deep experience in inventing, building world class teams and developing groundbreaking technologies in hardware and software areas of computing. He is the worldwide leader and program director of the IBM's Cognitive Sciences and Education Technology Research.
Dr. Patrick Watson
Patrick uses emerging science to create novel methods for education. He works at IBM Watson Education Research on developing personalized learning experiences that adapt to students’ preferences, behavior, and performance. He also teaches at Minerva Schools at the Keck Graduate Institute. He received a PhD in neuroscience from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2013.
Dr. Margaret Honey
Dr. Margaret Honey joined NYSCI as president and CEO in November of 2008. She is widely recognized for her work using digital technologies to support children’s learning across the disciplines of science, mathematics, engineering, and technology. Prior to joining NYSCI, she spent 15 years as vice president of the Education Development Center (EDC) and director of EDC’s Center for Children and Tech

Doug Moore
Doug Moore leads digital education strategy at NYSCI, dedicated to supporting creative learning experiences for children, parents, and educators worldwide. He is currently leading a project to develop a digital learning companion that fosters delight, supports deeper learning through creative, playful projects, and that learns over time in collaboration with IBM Watson Research.
