Join Friends' Central students and teachers as we share the power of increasing student choices in Maker Ed projects in the Ulmer Family Light Lab. Our unique model centers around student-initiated project ideas facilitated by faculty mentors with varied maker skill sets.

Brie Daley

Brie Daley directs the LS Maker Ed program at Friends' Central School in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania where she helps teachers and students create new open-ended Maker projects. Before opening the Ulmer Family Light Lab at FCS, Brie founded The Baldwin School's DREAM Lab (C), increasing opportunities for girls to explore STEAM.

Kelly Pierre

Kelly joined Friends’ Central as Lower School Principal in July 2014 after holding numerous teaching and leadership positions in independent schools in New York. including the Hewitt School, Packer Collegiate Institute, The Little Red Schoolhouse, and The Town School. Kelly brought the dream of LS makerspace into reality at FCS when the Ulmer Family Light Lab opened in October 2016.

Caitlin Nelson

Caitlin Nelson has taught Fifth Grade Math and Kindergarten during her years teaching at Friends' Central School. Caitlin also joined the Mighty Maker Camp staff as a Maker Mentor helping students create cardboard castles, 3D prints, and Rube Goldberg machines in Invention Convention.
