Jeff Gunn is my mentor at Berwick Academy and a co-founder of Port City Makerspace in Portsmouth NH.
I built an autonomous kayak that completed an ocean trip to an island five miles offshore, completely unassisted. The kayak is Arduino based, with custom fabricated steering, propulsion, and navigation systems. It was my 8th grade project at Berwick.
What inspired you to make this project?:
My dad and I were walking. He looked out at the Isles of Shoals, six miles offshore, and asked me if I had to send something there, how would I do that?
