Emmett will be in 5th Grade this year at Middlebrook Elementary School. Emmett and Catherine first showed off their Swim'Duino at the 2016 Westport Maker Faire and at the 2016 NYC World Maker Faire.
Swim'Duino is a prototype personal swim timer and wireless touchpad system. Swimmers looking for a more professional timing system and portable touchpad will find the Swim'Duino perfect for daily practice.
What inspired you to make this project?:
Catherine and Emmett are both avid swimmers. Emmett swims for Trumbull Pisces year round and they both swim for Lakewood Lightning in the summer. This project came about due to the lack of any swim timers at the Lakewood YMCA pool.
Experimenting with conductive fabric and resistive fabric sparked the idea.
