TRACIMOC, It's Comic Art Backwards!

TRACIMOC, It's Comic Art Backwards!

TRACIMOC takes homeless comic books and transforms them into a unique useable and wearable art. All the art is created from the original comic page, allowing each piece to be completely unique. Come try our DIY Pin/Key Chain/Zipper-Pull station!

What inspired you to make this project?:
I draw much inspiration from my childhood. I was—and still am—a huge fan of horror films, science fiction, and superheroes. I have always been creative. I grew up in Rhode Island with incredibly supportive parents who allowed me to explore my creative interests. I majored in Film, Media Studies, and Production at the University of Rochester where my love of art flourished. It was after college that I came across a box of old comic books – they were nothing special, just torn and well read issues that no one wanted anymore. Working around the demands of my full time job, I would sit, cutting up the comic books and experimenting to find fun uses for them.In 2011 my dad introduced me to the MAKE community. Since then I have been a Maker at Maker Faires from California to New York (and destinations in
between). They have provided an unparalleled experience that has motivated me to develop new and interesting ideas for the future of TRACIMOC. With input from family, friends, and fellow Makers I am constantly experimenting making new items, and over past five years, building TRACIMOC has become my passion. I can truly say I will never look at comic books the same way and I've found that nothing makes me happier than having the freedom and inspiration to create.
