Family STEM Night 2018

Family STEM Night 2018

Welcome to Family STEM Night 2018 hosted by Team 8485 and Team 6983 of Cresskill, NJ. Interested in STEM? Want to test your science abilities? This is the place for you! Create your own slime! You can even test-drive our robot on the obstacle course!

What inspired you to make this project?:
Originally, the point of Family STEM Night was to raise money for our STEM program and our robotics team however, throughout the years, it has turned into something bigger. Every year, we try to make the event bigger and better because we care that the kids in our community show an interest in STEM. We created new experiments and gave more freedom to our audience to see where their innovation takes them. We even expanded upon the elementary schools and set up programs like, engineering week, to teach the kids the basics of the engineering and the design process. Our team has actually participated in the NJ Makers' Faire two years in a row, where we show kids in our town's library our accomplishments and we even show them the robots that we use in the FTC competition. This is our 5th year doing this event and our team can proudly say that the popularity and love for STEM has grown enormously over the years. Without our community's constant love and support, we wouldn't be where we are right now.
