I am a self taught electronics engineer and have been making things my whole life. I enjoy building robots and educating people about how easy it is to turn an idea into reality. In addition to circuit boards, I designed my own 3D Printer!
Cohesion3D is a line of powerful but affordable 32 bit motion controllers that run the fast and easy to configure Smoothie firmware. They fit a wide range of uses from upgrading your laser cutter or CNC to building a monster multi-color 3D Printer.
What inspired you to make this project?:
After building my own 3D Printers, and buying a CNC Mill and Laser Cutter from China, I grew frustrated with the limited and under-powered control electronics that came with these machines. In the case of the K40 laser cutter, it actually locked the users into their proprietary and poorly written software. I set out to create an affordable and easy to install upgrade that users of these and other machines could use to improve their machines' performance and allow the use of any open control software they wanted.
