Since watching the original Sherlock Holmes Hound of Baskervilles film with the glowing dog I have been fascinated by luminescence. One day I accidentally discovered that I could draw on glowing powder with a purple laser, which lead to the LumoPad.
LumoPad introduces a new way to draw in the dark. Consisting of phosphorescent material, the LumoPad enables you to draw on it with a simple LED, having your drawing light up for a few minutes before fading away.
What inspired you to make this project?:
I have always been quite fascinated in luminescence and the re-emitting of light, and at one point accidentally discovered that you can draw on phosphorescent material with low wave-length light. After visiting Maker Faire last year I realized what a great opportunity it is to be able to present my creation to the world through the Faire.
