The Future Is Handmade. Thanks for Making It With Us.

What a weekend.

For three incredible days, Mare Island came alive with robots and rockets, fire and fabrication, art cars and electronics, drones and droids, handmade wonders, wild experiments, and ideas we never could have imagined on our own.

But the real magic of Maker Faire Bay Area has never been the things. It’s the people who make them.

To every maker who hauled in a project, answered a thousand questions, demonstrated an invention, taught someone a new skill, or shared something they made with their own two hands: thank you.

To everyone who raced a drone, soldered for the first time, pedaled for power, climbed inside a simulator, watched robots battle, wandered through glowing art, danced beside a fire-breathing octopus, or simply stopped and said, “Wait…how did they make that?”  Thank you for bringing your curiosity.

And to our volunteers, crew, partners, sponsors, performers, educators, families, and the entire Maker Faire community: none of this happens without you.

This year marked 20 years of Maker Faire Bay Area, two decades of bringing people together to show what they make and share what they know. Seeing Mare Island filled with makers again was a pretty great reminder of why we started doing this in the first place.

The Faire may be over, but the making doesn’t stop here.

Take something apart. Try the idea you’ve been putting off. Learn a new tool. Teach somebody what you know. Build something ridiculous. Break something. Fix it. Make it better and bring it in 2027.
