Struder 3D Fabricator. Industrial 3D pen

Home: California, United States

Struder is an upcoming product for makers which is like a MIG welder for plastic. Its the big brother of the 3D pen: a way to lay down molten plastic by hand and create just about anything you could possibly think of. Come see what you could make if you had the ability to lay down molten plastic wherever you wanted.

What Inspired You to Make This?

I do a lot of 3D printing, and have always wanted a way to fix / repair prints that cracked, or weld them together. The current generation of 3D pens work, but they are SO slow and they break really fast, which is frustrating. So I asked what would happen if I just made a handheld version of a 3D printer hot-end and optimized it for REALL high flow rates? Turns out, what you get is a uniquely capable tool for makers.
