Maker Faire Bay Area

Maker Faire Bay Area 2024 took place on Mare Island on October 18-20. We had a great turnout with 27,000 people on site over three days to experience 350 maker exhibits and dozens of presentations and hands-on activities. Among the performances were Diet Coke and Mentos by EepyBird, Mario the Maker Magician and Science Bob from CrunchLabs with a special appearance by Mark Rober. It was an incredible event — the best that Maker Faire can be! We hope to see you this fall along at the historic Mare Island Naval Shipyard along the scenic Napa River.

Clockwork Tech LLC

Our team is small and we come from a variety of backgrounds, including the Internet, communications, mobile phone, industrial design, and advertising industries. We currently have a staff of seven, plus two part-time employees. For the MFBA, we are coming with our current projects, GameShell, DevTerm, and uConsole. Also, two upcoming projects might come as well. We'd love to meet our customers and any one who is interested in coding, retro gaming, geek gadgets and cool designs. We are also open for discussions about business opportunities.

How we started as makers and snuck into Hollywood props and special effects

How does one go from being a maker, to working on Hollywood productions? Here are a few people who have made it and we want to share our stories and give you advice on how you might break into the movie scene. We have worked on StarTrekBeyond, Predator, Maze runner, DeathNote, Ghostbusters, Fraggle Rock, and made one of the most viral advertising campaigns ever on Youtube for Wednesday Adams. We are very lucky. Everyone in this talk started out as makers just like you. Some of us lived in the middle of nowhere. 3D printing, Designing, Lasers, robotics and Radio Control. How did we get into movies with the odds stacked against us? We will share our stories of how we got into movies and show you how we snuck into the movie industry.
