The Fixers Collective will be demonstrating repair techniques for popular, common, and maybe not-so-common items. They might even use creative (and safe-enough) techniques. They will be fixing stuff on a pop-up basis. Come over, say hi, and learn about about efforts to save stuff from the landfill and the big shredder!

Fixers Collective
The Fixers Collective is an ongoing social experiment in improvisational fixing and aggressive asset recovery. The Fixers Collective was a Project-In-Residence at Proteus Gowanus and now meets throughout the five boroughs. We want to increase material literacy in our community by fostering an ethic of creative caring toward the objects in our lives.

We saw the waste generated by over-consumption. We saw the decline in teaching skills as funding for shop class started drying up. We became inspired to act as eleventh-hour rescue for your inanimate objects.
