AI Color Chocolate Sorting Machine
Home: California, United States
This project is an automated machine for sorting M&Ms by color, utilizing computer vision technology and automation. The key component is the Husky Lens, an artificial intelligence camera from DF Robot, responsible for identifying the color of each M&M. Once the color is detected, a servo motor is activated, directing the chocolates to the respective boxes based on color. The control core of the machine is the Raspberry Pi Pico microcontroller board, which manages the interface between the Husky Lens and the servo motor. This system demonstrates the practical application of computer vision and automation in specific tasks, offering an efficient and precise method for sorting M&Ms by color.

"My color-sorting M&Ms project shows how artificial intelligence can work with other technologies like programming, microcontrollers, servo motors, 3D design, and 3D printing to solve real problems. Using the Husky Lens, an AI camera from DF Robot, the project identifies each M&M's color. Then, the Raspberry Pi Pico microcontroller board takes over, controlling the process and activating the servo motors that sort the M&Ms into their color-matched boxes. I chose chocolates for this project not just for their industrial relevance but also because they grab young people's attention. The goal is to spark interest in the maker and DIY world among the youth, showing them how fun and rewarding technology and engineering can be. I hope this project encourages young people to get interested in these fields and maybe even join our community of creators and innovators." Riciery Penques Techtronic3d Tech channels
