VoxHead, a creative commons 3D printed life-sized humanoid robot

Faire: Bay Area

Maker: Michael Brady

Home: Indiana, United States

This is a demonstration of VoxHead 3.0, a 3D-printed humanoid robot. The robot is for makers and hobbyists to build and to customize themselves. It is meant as a low-cost tool for robotics software developers, and for human-robot speech interaction developers. The robot's plastic parts can be downloaded and 3D printed with FDM (hobby) printers. The other parts are common components - such as servo motors and cameras and electronics - that can be purchased over the internet and delivered the next day. The robot is controlled by a choice of Raspberry Pi 5, or a Jetson [Orin] Nano. This embedded device may then interface with a smart phone, and other computer(s) on the cloud.
