This installation aims to immerse users into a meditational experience through the use of Arabic Sufi music and Islamic geometry, which reflects a faith-based art practice. By taking the user into an immersive experience of sound and light, the user’s current state of mind is encouraged to enter a trance-like state. The change in mind states is captured through the biometric signals from the EEG device, and can in turn alter the colors and geometric art displayed.

We are three graduate students from the NYU Tisch School of Arts. We have come together to explore concepts within human-centric and immersive experiences that create conversations between the audience and art through the use of technology.
