Doing it Yourself, Together: Orchestrating Grassroots Movements

Virtually Maker Faire 2020

May 22nd-23rd

Exhibit

Four maker advocacy organizations —Fab Foundation, Nation of Makers, Open Source Medical Supplies, and Tikkun Olam Makers — have come together in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to mobilize local grassroots making and manufacturing capabilities to facilitate increased access to personal protective equipment (PPE) and medical supplies around the world.

Leaders from each of these organizations will share their reflections on the incredible aggregate power of local fabrication efforts, and host a spirited community discussion, offering an inside glimpse into the challenges and inspirations of being organizers and networkers within the highly independence-oriented maker/fabricator/distributed manufacturer global movements during the COVID-19 crisis.
