This is a fun and playful introduction to puppetry fundamentals and basic manipulation techniques. Participants can follow along and construct paper puppets from brown paper and tape, then make discoveries through play as they take the puppets through a series of exercises. The collaborative style explored in the workshop is based on the traditional Japanese puppetry style of Bunraku, and is a wonderful introduction to table-top puppetry and working as part of an ensemble. No puppetry experience is required, and participants have a practice puppet at the end of the workshop.
