Amateur Radio Operations Via QO-100 Geostationary Satellite

Virtually Maker Faire 2020

May 22nd-23rd

Exhibit

This presentation is a livestream of amateur radio operations via the OQ-100 geostationary satellite. A DIY satellite groundstation is used to tune in on the satellite and make contact with other radio operators around half the planet. The hardware employed is based on a modified software defined radio and standard satellite reception hardware commonly found in TV applications.
Antenna feeds are based on 3D printed designs.
The presentation will be a mixture of slides explaining the technology + live radio contacts around the world.
