Kijenzi: 3D Printing Medical Equipment in Kenya
World Maker Faire New York 2018
Kijenzi makes 3D printing medical equipment possible for rural healthcare clinics in Kenya; helping developing regions overcome the overwhelming supply chain issues encountered by rural medical facilities in developing communities.
What inspired you to make this project?:
I have had experience designing products in Kenya and we were approached by someone who said they had the perfect 3D printer for Kenya. They meant it was cheap (but not reliable). Further research made it clear that in Kenya we didn’t need a new 3D printer, we needed a new way to use 3D printers.
