[Young Makers] Making for Good: Open-Source Solutions

World Maker Faire New York 2018

September 22nd-23rd

Presentation Education

Makers are changing how we solve problems. At the intersection of skill, and access, we can solve massive issues. The skills we makers posses are capable of creating assistive technology. Things like prosthetics are being revolutionized, and we are just scratching the surface.

Becky Button

Becky Button has been an avid Maker ever since she got her first 3D printer to make a prosthetic. Equipped with this powerful technology at home, she saw the connection between making and creating assistive technology. This summer, she taught free all girls introduction to microcontrollers class, teaching 50 girls how to code and make!
