Event Horizon is a robotics team with the goal of extending STEM activities to athletes and artists. Cyprus Maker Community was founded similarly and works with its community to educate and inspire youth, erasing the social boundaries of STEM.
What inspired you to make this project?:
We found that traditional robotics teams and makerspaces included those who already had demonstrative interest in these fields. We felt this was an elitist structure in which only those with perfected skills in the engineering field could succeed, and formed Event Horizon and Cyprus to extend these opportunities to athletes, artists, and those not included in the STEM field.
