Jess Levin has earned a BFA from the State University of New York at Purchase, NY, concentrating in ceramics with hints of fabrics to show the balance between the soft and the fragile. They use a bright, colorful, cartoonish sculpting style to bring to life a narrative of self-exploration and expression. The colorful yet quiet animal-human hybrids they create communicate a sense of serenity and a relationship between fauna and human. They are currently the Westchester Community Fellow at the Clay Arts Center in Port Chester, New York, teaching many different students ranging from elementary, middle, and high school to adults with disabilities, and seniors.

As an emerging artist, I want to take every opportunity I come across to interact with the art community around me. I think this is a great way to meet other makers and crafters and learn about other artists' practices. Childhood is a very prominent theme in my work, and having children experience fine art in an easily digestible way drives me forward. I'm excited for children to be able to experience my work in person.
