Hamptons Yarn was founded by fiber artist and crochet/knitwear designer Amanda Schaefer. Its mission is to promote awareness and education about the textile arts and the artistry of how raw fiber is turned into yarn suitable for textile production. Starting out with raw animal or plant-based fiber, Amanda processes the fiber by hand without the use of harmful chemicals or additives to prepare the fiber to be spun into yarn. The finished hand spun yarn can be used in knitting, crochet, and weaving projects. Hamptons Yarn distinguishes itself based upon its commitment to natural processes and methods which demand time and skill to result in a superior end-product. Amanda began crocheting at a young age and has over ten (10) years of experience. Amanda later learned how to knit and has completed several lace projects in knitting. She has taught crochet classes since 2014 and
