Scarab: A Personal Environmental Data Collection Robot

Home: New York, United States

Scarab is my home built, environmental data collection robot. It was inspired by one of my hobbies, Urban Exploration and can be used to help collect data about the places I explore.

I've been into robotics for as long as I can remember. When I was younger, I loved to take apart anything electronic, study it and reassemble it and now as an adult, I'm building Arduino-based robots in my free time. I'm very happy to be alive in this period in time because I believe that we (humanity) are in the begining of a tech/robotics, Industrial Revolution and that we have the ability to use current and emerging technology to make the world a better place for everyone living in it.

What Inspired You to Make This?

This project is inspired partly by my hobby, Urban Exploration and partly by a close friend of mine who made me realize that elbow joint movement is similar to knee/leg joint movement and that another project that I'd been working on previously, was similar to making a walking robot.
