We wanted to make Scan-It Planet because there aren’t a lot of peaceful, puzzle-oriented co-op games out there, especially in arcades where games are mainly competitive or combative. Inspired by how games like Overcooked are inherently peaceful multiplayer games that are extremely fun to play with friends, we were curious if we could make an alt-control game that focuses on player coordination and challenges players to communicate effectively. Our experience goal is for players to feel a sense of mutual accomplishment when they creatively solve a problem together with another person. The result is an easy to learn, spectator-friendly co-op game that blends the real and virtual world!
