Local Children Books Author

Home: New York, United States of America

Join local author Ralph Peterson for a fun and interactive storytelling experience! Ralph will be showcasing A Good Luck, Bad Luck Book—a delightful picture book for children ages 3 to 6 that follows a whimsical adventure filled with unexpected twists. Stop by the booth to hear the story, create your own good luck/bad luck tale, and explore the world of children's literature through art and imagination.

Kids can take part in a hands-on activity where they draw or write their own story inspired by the book. Families can browse beautifully illustrated books, meet the author, and even get their copies signed. Whether you're a parent, teacher, or book-loving kid, this booth is all about celebrating creativity, literacy, and the magic of storytelling!

I am a local Long Island author and publisher specializing in children's picture books for ages 3 to 6. My books are fun, colorful, and designed to spark imagination while delivering heartfelt messages. I write and publish my own stories, many of which feature themes of friendship, resilience, and emotional growth—all through engaging storytelling and vibrant illustrations.

What Inspired You to Make This?

I started writing when I was just eight years old because I’ve always loved storytelling—both the reading and the sharing of it. Creating books is a way to reconnect with that childhood passion and to inspire kids the same way books inspired me growing up. A Good Luck, Bad Luck Book began as a college writing assignment over 30 years ago and has now come full circle as a published children’s book. It’s a celebration of imagination, resilience, and the magic that happens when we tell stories to one another. My hope is to help kids fall in love with books and storytelling from an early age—just like I did.
