linographing is a technique of high printing (it is called this because printing elements are located above the spaces). to print linographs, a drawing is cut on linoleum or other polymer-based stichels (special tools). then printed on paper, fabric, etc. this technique first appeared in the 20th century, when artists figured out how to print large posters on anything other than a board. linoleum, unlike wood, is soft and plastic. Is it possible to print the same image multiple times? Yes, that's true, but the number of copies is still limited, since over time linoleum deforms, and the cuts are filled with paint. There are many other types of printed graphics: lithography, xylography, outline, monotype, and others. But its beauty lies in the fact that the image is unique and incredibly detailed. This is a very subtle art in which it is necessary to calculate the amount of paint and the power of the press.
