Introduction to woodturning: emphasizing safe turning practices, members of Artistic Woodturners, a local woodturning club open to all interested individuals, will demonstrate creating simple objects from wood secured in a wood lathe. As the wood spins in the lathe, sharp tools are applied to its surface, using various techniques, to create simple projects that can be completed in 20 minutes or less. Such objects such as bottle stoppers, small bowls, honey dippers and others will be crafted.

Artistic Woodturners has existed since 1991. We currently have 58 members, aged 17 to 85, the majority of whom are retired. Ca 40% consider themselves as beginners. We hold monthly meetings.
