Compass Handheld CNC Router

Faire: Bay Area

Maker: Compass CNC

Home: California, United States

Compass is a handheld CNC router for precise 2D cuts on the go. Users move the device roughly along a desired path, while Compass moves the cutting tool in real-time to compensate for user error. It does this using optical flow sensors inside the device – like those in computer mice – to determine where it is on the workpiece. This sensing technology allows for simplified and precise machining without prior setup. We've implemented advanced control systems to maintain stability and precision. We are currently polishing the technology and plan to launch Compass Handheld CNC Router kits in the next couple months!
