BitBeam je více než jen robotická konstrukční stavebnice. Aktuálně tištěná, dříve vyřezávaná ze dřeva. Základním spojovacím materiálem je šroub M4 nebo plastový kolíček. Stavebnice je aktivně vyvíjena od roku 2011 a obsahuje více než 400 různých dílků. Díky své otevřené licenci a dostupnosti 3D modelů, stejně jako zdrojových souborů pro program OpenSCAD je možné si stavebnici doplnit o své vlastní dílky.
